LAMSBD held a emergency special meeting, Friday, April 16th at 5 PM and approved a contract not to exceed $20,000 in cost for Hayward Construction to stop the leak in the Lake Asbury (Big or Lower) Lake west spillway kettle. Remember the kettle valves are simple knife valves and never completely shut off the water flow. Seepage is natural. Remember this project is to stop the water flow only.

Work will begin Monday morning, April 19th.  Lake Asbury Dr Traffic may be one lane during the project.

Please Drive Safety.

This morning at 10:35 AM, April 17th the LA official water gauge that was surveyed in at the NAVD 88 setting indicated the LA water level was 18 inches below norm.  Depending on rain and drainage from the watershed the lake level could be two feet down (below norm) by Monday morning. Norm is approx. 24.4 inches.
